Live sharing

Live collaboration is available in the Mac app and the iPhone app on TestFlight. The iPhone app is in TestFlight for iOS 26+; its App Store release is coming soon. See availability.

Open a pop on Mac and turn on the Live collaboration toggle in the Share popover. On iPhone, open the document actions menu and choose Collaborate. The owner signs in with Apple to create the link, then chooses Copy Link. Send it to the people you want to edit with. Anyone with the link can edit, so pass it on with care. Guests need no account.

The link opens pop on Mac or iPhone when it is installed. Otherwise, open it in Chrome at share.dotpop.click to use the browser copy. Other browsers remain unqualified. Each person edits their own copy; changes flow between connected copies. Edits made while a copy is open offline merge when it reconnects.

A link nobody opens for 90 days ends.

Chrome saves your copy in that browser on that device. Opening a shared pop in the browser requires a connection; reliable offline reopening remains future work. Download a .pop file to keep a copy you can open in pop. Browser storage can be cleared or evicted, so download work you want to keep.

The owner turns off Live collaboration, then confirms Stop. The confirmation explains that the link stops working and everyone keeps their own copy. Those copies remain editable independently. Sharing again creates a new link; the old link stays ended.

Open the new link to rejoin. A matching local document keeps its identity and current edits, then merges with the new share. If pop can’t confirm that the previous link ended, retry when connected.

Choose Save Unshared Copy… while collaboration is live to keep an independent file with a new document identity and no live link. It keeps accepted edits and referenced attachments, without the shared history. It does not stop the original link.

In the account panel, choose Delete Account… and confirm. Deletion ends your live links and removes their relay data and your sharing account. Documents on your devices and in iCloud stay. The app also attempts to revoke Apple access; if that cannot finish, it directs you to remove pop in Apple Account settings. Guests’ downloaded and local copies remain theirs. Signing out alone does not end existing links.

For an independent file, image or PDF instead, see build and share. For your own Mac and iPhone, Synced Library uses your iCloud account separately from live links.
